How we rank tools
Every tool is scored the same way, so rankings are fair and comparable week to week.

Our rules
- Prices are checked on the vendor's own pricing page and dated. If we haven't re-checked a price, we say so.
- Sponsors can buy placement, never a score. Sponsored spots are always labeled and never change a ranking.
- Affiliate links are disclosed. We may earn a commission if you buy through some links, at no extra cost to you. It never affects scores.
- We don't repeat marketing claims as fact. "Saves 90% of your time" is the vendor talking, not us.
- Every listing is re-checked at least every 90 days.
- Prices are shown in US dollars, as most vendors list them, with a Canadian dollar estimate at the current exchange rate (US$1 ≈ CA$1.42, updated Oct 15, 2026). Some vendors bill Canadian customers in CAD, so check at checkout.
How scores are made today
Current scores are based on each tool's published pricing and features, verified on the vendor's site, plus user reports. We add hands-on testing notes as we complete them, and we'll say clearly on each tool page when a tool has been tested hands-on.
